The ever-lasting finish requires only simple and routine care to maintain its good looks. To clean Concetto, we recommend using warm water, mild detergent and a white cloth.

Stubborn Stains or Dried Spills

Any mild cleaner or detergent can be used on stubborn stains. To remove adhered materials like food, gum and nail polish, first scrape away the excess with a plastic putty knife. Then wipe away with denatured alcohol to remove stubborn marks, however the surface should be rinsed with water immediately after their use.

Heat Resistance

Concetto can tolerate moderately hot temperatures for brief periods of time. Direct contact between very hot pots and the Concetto surface should be avoided. We recommend using an insulator / hot pad / trivet especially when using cooking units like electric fry pans, woks and kettles.

Tough - Yes, Indestructible – No

Avoid any highly caustic cleaning agents like oven and grill cleaners and dishwashing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels. Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue and should be rinsed off thoroughly. Should your surface accidentally be exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse immediately with water to neutralize the effect.

Scratch Resistance

Concetto is highly scratch resistant. However, avoid using sharp objects directly onto the surface.

Tweeding creates a complexity of color that gives a rug depth and intricacy. The process of tweeding is labor-intensive and time-consuming. The dyed wool, which has been spun together with three plies of wool into miles of twisted strands must all be pulled apart. Then one ply of another shade is placed together with two of the original-color plies. The combination of plies is then once again twisted together. The majority of New Moon rugs are enhanced by this technique but it is a process that takes a much, much longer time to do.

Strong chemical washes strip the wool of its natural lanolin. The wash creates an immediate shine but only at the expense of the wool, which has been stripped of its natural lanolin and weakened by the strong chemicals. New Moon rugs are not washed with harsh chemicals. Rather, their beautiful shine naturally reveals itself after being polished through the exposure to light, air and, of course, passing feet!
